Torremolinos lies in the south of Spain on the Costa del Sol, located 16km west of Malaga,
although it was previously founded, it did not appear in the Marquis of the Ensenada map until
1748. Washed by the Mediterranean Sea, it enjoys a subtropical type of weather with a mean
temperature of 22 degrees centigrade and more than 325 days of sun a year.
The town has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, well known for its clean sandy
beaches, wide selection of hotels and restaurants and unparalleled range of entertainment,
activities and nightlife available. At the height of summer, the resort has a vast appeal for
the younger set, with a reputation for its hectic nightlife. Out of season, however, it takes
on a different quality. Now practically a suburb of Malaga, the ambience is much more Spanish,
particularly at weekends, with an air of friendliness and welcome.
With 10km of wide, sandy beaches, lots of water sports, a mass of bars and restaurants and an
exhausting nightlife, the resort attracts tourists of all ages from all over Europe. There is
a large gay scene, but the resort is equally well liked with families and the inevitable 18 to
30 crowd. Try Car Hire Torremolinos and see Malaga old town.
