Sancti Petri Chiclana de la frontera is located in the north-west of Spain in the Cadiz Provence. The ideal airport for this location is Gibraltar airport approximately 96 km away.
The village is windswept and desolate but still retains a definite appeal. Just before the village there is a fishing port and harbor with lots of discarded ships. You can follow the road past the old village, and you'll come to the modern port. This is completely different. It's a lively port with a mooring capacity for over 700 boats. There is also a yacht club, along with a windsurfing and sailing school.
Traces of (Phoenician) (Carthaginian) and (Roman) civilizations are obvious in Chiclana. Chiclana and Cadiz are the oldest cities in Europe. Furthermore, this location is surrounded by folklore and legends throughout the Roman era where ancient temples were built on its peninsula and said to be a shrine to the mighty Hercules. Chiclana along with other towns in the area was all built on the frontiers for this Regions. This made the towns the final frontiers dividing the Christian and Moorish civilizations that existed here back in the 15th century.
