San Sebastian is located 21km West of the French border, 483km North of Madrid, 100km East of
Bilbao. It is the true gem of Basque resorts. With its mix of international and charming
old-world feel, it's the ideal summer escape with
Car Hire San Sebastian.
The town truly springs to life at sunset when the locals pursue a tradition called Poteo.
Where people get together after work and go from bar to bar drinking and eating. Drinkers
usually call it quits sometime between nine and midnight, when it's time for the final meal
of the day. This meal is usually a more significant one. With the Aldamondo Restaurant serving
dishes like sirloin steak and red peppers.
La Concha is the city's most well known beach, particularly in July and August,
when it seems as though half the population of Spain and France
spends its days under striped canopies or swimming in the
cool waters of the bay. The La Concha is half-encircled by
a promenade, where crowds mill during the evening. The neighboring
beach is the Playa de Ondarreta. The climate here is decidedly
more Atlantic than Mediterranean.
