San Sebastian is located 21km West of the French border 483km North of Madrid and 100km East of Bilbao. It is the true gem of Basque resorts with a mix of international and charming old-world feel. The town truly springs to life at sunset when the locals pursue a tradition called Poteo. Where people get together after work and go from a bar to bar drinking and eating. Drinkers usually call it quits sometime between nine and midnight when it's time for the final meal of the day. This meal is a more significant one. Restaurant serves all sorts of great traditional dishes like Gabure (Soup), Lamb Stews, and all different types of sea food and not forgetting Original Basque paella.
La Concha is the city's most well known beach, particularly in July and August. When it seems as though half the population of Spain and France ends its days under canopies or swimming in cool waters of the bay. La Concha is half-encircled by a promenade where crowds mill during the evening. The neighboring beach is the Playa de Ondarreta. And the climate here is decidedly more Atlantic than Mediterranean.
