Puerto Rico is a up to date independent resort with an excellent sunshine record. This resort has a superior location with gleaming white hotels and apartments built into the hillside, providing excellent views of the harbour and beaches below. There are two beaches. The main beach is man made and has a large sweep of Golden Sand that sweeps gently into the sea.

Down towards the charming harbour there's a promenade with bars and cafes and, when the sun goes down, there are two commercial centres offering everything from karaoke to curry and nightlife for all ages. Puerto Rico is a hilly resort approximately 20 minutes from Playa del Ingles and 40 minutes from the airport at Las Palmas. Puerto Rico has a nice sandy beach with a beautiful marina. There are many bars, restaurants and cafes on the beachfront.

Puerto Rico boasts three large shopping and entertainment malls, the largest being the Centro Civico, where visitor's can buy literally anything. There is everything from banks to boutiques, florists and fishmongers, and dozens of duty-free stores selling electrical goods, photographic equipment and perfume at great prices.
