Pamplona is situated in the Navarre region of Spain and is also the capital
of the region. It is well known for the custom of the running
of the bulls, which takes place between the 6th and 14th of
July every year. The center of the city is a wealth of history.

the city, into the Navarra wine region. The peaks of the Pyrenees and Picos mountain ranges
melt into the great central plains that make up Spain's most charming landscape. Be sure to
have an overnight stay in Olite. This refreshingly tourist-free village is the wine capital
of the region, stuffed with Gothic and Romanesque churches. East of Olite, the hilltop village
of Ujue offers a dramatic overview of the entire southern Navarra region particularly from the
vantage point of the Gothic Santa Maria church.
