It is the entertainment capitol of Florida. At one time, it was once an urban part of Central Florida. It is a city spawned by the unique achievement and development of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Sea World and a host of smaller attractions. Now practically all of Central Florida defines its self by its distance from Orlando USA. As the urban growth happens, the area sandwiched between Tampa on the Gulf Coast, and the Kissimmee area is quickly becoming one large community.
Just, 35 miles east of the city you will find 72 miles of immaculate Atlantic beaches known as Florida's Space Coast. All along this remarkable stretch of coastline there is some nature preserves that exists in perfect harmony. Along side this area you have, the space-age attractions of Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Port Canaveral and the Astronaut Hall of Fame. Visit one of the unique and friendly zoos in America with over 700 animals surrounded by botanical gardens.
Tourism is a very large business in Florida, particularly throughout the winter months. As well, the beaches and warm sunshine, the state offers all year-round golfing, fishing, tennis and other outdoor sports. Farming is the other large industry. Florida supplies most of the oranges, citrus fruits and winter vegetables.
