Cadiz is located some nine miles inland from the sea between Cadiz and Seville in the south. Jerez airport is 8 km from the city. Cadiz is about 2km and at the start of the Costa de Sol. Seville and Seville airport is 80 km. Gibraltar and Gibraltar airport is approximately 100 km away. All the airports have all the modern-day facilitates that is expected by two-day travelers.
The most striking of the town's building is the imposing Gothic-Renaissance Catedral (de San Salvador) and the eleventh-century Moorish (AlcAzar). It is the home and heartland of sherry well known throughout the world for its sweet wines named after the town. It is called de la Frontera because it once stood on the frontier between the Moorish and the Christian realms. It is also famous throughout the world for its fine horses and brilliant singers and dancers of flamenco. Making it a stylish and affluent town a very attractive place to stop.
